“Billable Hours” Adds Billing Flexibility!
We pay attention when you log feature requests! Our customers have asked for this functionality and in this new release of Timetracker, we have included a new “Billable Hours” feature, which adds a whole new realm of billing flexibility. As a manager, you can now set time tracks as “Billable” on the “Times Explorer” page, allowing you to select/cherry-pick exactly which time tracks you bill to your customers and which ones you don’t. Once selected and marked as “billable”, the billable hours data is then available when you create reports via the “Times Explorer” export, “Budgets” export, and the Reporting API. Try it out and let us know what you think!
The “Times Explorer” page performance and load time has been improved with the addition of the “Project” and “Iteration” dropdown pre-filters at the top of the page. You can select exactly which project(s) or iteration(s) are visible and load each time you navigate to the “Times Explorer” page.
Another nice add in this release, specific to VSTS only right now, includes a new licensing informational page for VSTS users who are not licensed or whose license has expired; these users will now see a page informing them as such, instead of the Timetracker tab not being visible or just disappearing altogether.
The precision and accuracy of the “Completed Work” and “Remaining Work” fields has been increased from one (1) to two (2) decimal places (e.g. 1.23 h). Overall performance throughout Timetracker has been improved when there are a large number of projects and iterations in TFS, and performance on the “Approval” page has been significantly improved when a manager approves/closes one week of time entry with multiple users. Performance improvements extend to the “Iterations” and “Timesheet” pages for really complex sprints/weeks that contain a large number of TFS IDs. A nice work item “Time” tab usability improvement has also been added in this release. Now, when a user clicks on “Add Time” within the work item’s “Time” tab, the popup calendar is no longer automatically displaying from the “Date” field, blocking other fields on the resulting “Add/Edit Time Record” dialog box. Fewer clicks equals greater productivity!
“Budgets” page: Vertical alignment of “Budgets” buttons fixed.
